She is nationally recognized for her design of private and public gardens including the Berkshire Botanical Garden, Stockbridge, Massachusetts, Brookside Gardens, Wheatland, Maryland and for the past 18 years the designer and curator of the famous perennial borders of the J.C. Raulston Arboretum, Raleigh, North Carolina.
